About Me
Hi, I’m Martin Oywa, a Machine Learning Engineer passionate about building AI systems that bridge research and real-world impact. I specialize in Deep Learning, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing, with growing expertise in MLOps and Generative AI.
I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science, where my research explores whether timbre transfer of the human singing voice can help improve automatic music transcription of singing. This work combines my interests in audio processing, deep learning, and most importantly creative AI applications.
I’ve worked on projects ranging from LLM-powered applications to custom image and audio models, always with a focus on making solutions efficient, scalable, and user-friendly.
Beyond engineering, I’m motivated by a bigger vision: to establish an AI research hub in Kenya, enabling local talent to contribute to global advancements in artificial intelligence.
